Global citizens rely on a network of communications between countries. Declining and emerging economies can have a positive and negative impact. Fair trade can protect employees and the environment.

Globalisation has made the world a smaller and more connected place. Multinational corporations, increased global trading and the internet have brought people closer together.

Globalisation means that the world is becoming interconnected by trade and culture exchange. This study guide looks at the reasons for globalisation and its positive and negative influences.

Indigenous peoples are among the first to face the direct consequences of climate change, due to their dependence upon, and close relationship, with the environment and its resources. Climate change exacerbates the difficulties already faced by indigenous communities including political and economic marginalization, loss of land and resources, human rights violations, discrimination and unemployment.
