Strategy Students: Leaders

This page (learn.wab.edu/strategy/students/leaders) will be used to share the resources, designed between student leader groups, Inspire Citizens and WAB. Throughout the process of setting our next strategic direction, WAB students will take the lead, working with the leadership team and community members.

The Future of WAB Needs YOU!

We need your voice to make sure we are the best we can be, helping you develop into young people who are ready to thrive in the world beyond WAB. Thank-you to all the students who have taken part so far, and all who will help lead sessions with our community.

Final student training session:

  • Thursday May 6, 2:10pm - 3:20pm in Lotus Lounge

During this session, we will prepare to lead sessions, and determine who is available to work in teams for each session. Not all students are needed (or available) for every session).

Students will be leading sessions for others on:

  • Weds May 12, Parent Link (on campus). 8:30 - 10:00am
  • Thurs May 13, Parents (on campus evening). 7:00 - 8:30pm
  • Weds May 19, Faculty. 3:30pm - 4:45pm
  • May 22, WAB Alumni on Campus. 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Leading Community Engagements

Thank-you for helping lead our community, to ensure we hear from as many people as possible. By facilitating conversations with your groups, you will help participants think about Our World, Our School and Our Learners.

By the end of your 70-min workshop:

  • Your group should create a "portrait" using the prompt questions
  • Your participants should each offer their feedback in the "exit ticket" online

Our World

What are some plausible futures that we will grow up into?

What dispositions, skills and knowledge might we need to thrive in an uncertain future?

Our School

What are the elements of WAB's Mission & Core Values?

How might these help guide our work?

Our Learners

How might we envision "Portraits of WAB Alumni" - profiles of young people who are ready for the world?

What should we focus on as a school to ensure a positive future for our learners and our communities?
