Throughout the school year, there are three main events where individual students and student-led clubs are invited to participate. These are opportunities for clubs and individuals to raise money as well as spread awareness about various causes and help community partners.
The WAB Community Market is a holiday bazaar that is open to the entire Beijing community. Student-led clubs, individuals as well as many outside merchants and charity organizations sell gift items, just in time for the holidays. This event is hosted by ParentLink and students can rent tables for a small fee.
Rock in the Park, which includes Jazz in the Park and the Identity Film Festival, is a two-day event in the spring and is WAB's biggest event of the year. Hosted in May, Rock in the Park is open to the public and includes performances from a range of artists. There are many activities, games, food, and concerts for everyone to enjoy. Student-led clubs and individuals can host a table free of charge.
Procedure for Organizing a Day 9 Workshop
Talk to your supervisor to make sure they are available to supervise the event or find another adult who will.
Decide on the purpose and outcome of the workshop. What will the attendees of your workshop accomplish?
Send Ms. Crouch a message or make a meeting to discuss details of your workshop AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE. She will schedule the event on MyTime.
Think about how you might advertise the workshop to the community. Who is your audience?

Procedure for Organizing and Hosting Your Cooking Workshop
Schedule a time to meet with Ms. Crouch to discuss your ideas.
Cooking workshops may be single classes or a course of 3 classes. In order for a cooking activity to be considered a CAS Project, a full course must be offered. Clubs can host single cooking classes. Make sure your supervisor is available to support you.
In order to receive funding for supplies and use the HUB kitchen as a CAS project, you must submit a plan for your Cooking Course. Use a model like this: Beijing Cooking Classes | The Hutong
The requirements are as follows:

Once your idea is approved, Ms. Crouch will set up a chat with Ms. Cynthia Lin Yang, the Kitchen Technician. She will run an orientation with you in the kitchen and help with the kitchen safety module course (see link below). At the end of the module, you will need to complete a short quiz.
