Objectives

Students learn to work cooperatively with each other and create a sense of ensemble.

Vocabulary - Ensemble

Ensemble:  A group of performers who work collaboratively together.  

Team building:  The act of creating a strong ensemble.  

Trust:  The basis for all our work.  Trust creates a safe environment, physically and mentally, where every member of the ensemble knows they can rely on the other members. 

Stage Directions: Nomenclature that defines areas of the stage, also notes in a script that tells the actors how to move or feel

Criticism: positive comments designed to improve performance

Aesthetics: truth, beauty, or symmetry in art

Art: an imitation of life

Pantomime: silent acting using exaggeration and gestures

Sublime: to stand the test of time

Classic: first or original
