As part of their MYP Curriculum, Grade 8 Students are soon to begin their Experiential Outdoor Education Trip to Huang Hua Cheng in the Huairou District of Beijing. In this three-day WAB WILD Outdoor Education Trip, students will camp near the Great Wall, learn kayak & canoe paddling skills and techniques, navigation, core-camping skills, and skills in effective decision-making.
Please review the attached Waiver and Acknowledgment of Risk (at end of packet) carefully. A signed copy is required for participation; please return the paper form to your child’s homeroom teacher. As well, please make sure you have completed the WAB Mobile Connect permissions for the trip; this can be accessed by scanning the QR code below with WeChat.
The objectives for this Experiential Outdoor Education experience are:
Students will gain a better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others in the natural world.
Students will grow in their knowledge of how they play a part in sustainability in both the local and big picture environment.
Students will strengthen their skills in teamwork, collaboration, and leadership in a controlled, but challenging environment.
