A fairy tale is a type of folklore or traditional literature about magical and imaginary people and places. Once upon a time and happily ever after are frequently used to start and end fairy tales.

Fantasy books usually involve imaginary and unrealistic elements such as supernatural powers, like magic and magical creatures. Fantasy stories often contain elements of Medievalism, such as castles, knights, kings, magical swords, and references to ancient spells.

Poetry is a type of literature that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions. Poetry books are located in the 811 section of nonfiction in our library.

  • A poem makes you think about your feelings and create a picture in your head.
  • The author writes to entertain you and chooses and arranges language for its meaning, sound, and rhythm.
  • Poetry can be written in different ways -- some poems rhyme and some don't.
