Resources to Support Parenting in the Digital Age

Summer Fun!

Last week on this blog, we shared some summer reading suggestions. At WAB we believe in life-long and continuous learning that goes above and beyond just summer reading. We aim to provide our community with holistic resources that stimulate the mind, the body, and the soul.

Our Summer Libguide was created in the summer of 2020, in an unprecedented time of people either in lock-down or quarantine. Each year, we have updated the guide for the summer with the hopes that our community will be able to be out and about in one form or another.

The guide has resources whether you want to be active, relax, read, create or challenge yourself. It is also a reminder that our resources - online books, databases and subscriptions remain working all year around, even if the physical premises are closed.

To highlight a few:

Sora is our online reading platform and has a collection of ebooks and audiobooks for everyone from the very youngest to our parents and teachers. Find instructions to sign up for parents here. Students log in through their Clever accounts. You must have a vpn to access.

Capstone Interactive has Interactive eBooks in a variety of genres for our elementary school readers. There is read aloud audio for every book and multi-user, simultaneous access. Students log in through their Clever accounts.

Above all, relax and have some fun family time together, perhaps playing some games, drawing, cooking or taking some walks in natures!
