Resources to Support Parenting in the Digital Age

The curriculum and beyond

In the past year our library and EdTech team has invested a lot of time in our new learning site: learn.wab.edu which has become extremely popular with our students, teachers and parents, as well as ask.wab.edu a place to find answers to FAQs.

We envisage it as a "one stop shop" for research and learning for our students so that they spend their time learning online in the most productive manner possible. Subjects and units create a starting point for research using carefully curated resources that are known to be reliable and that rely on the educational sources and databases that WAB has invested in.

Let's spend a little time on how to navigate around the sites:

learn.wab.edu

1. The overall starting point:
learn.wab.edu but each section has their own landing page and clicking on the relevant symbol will take you there:

You will notice that the guides of each section are slightly different to cater for the age and pedagogy relevant to the students.

This main page will also take you to our Strategy and Libraries and EdTech pages.

And details on our various programmes as well as new guides that have been recently created.

Within the various subjects and unit you'll find a vast amount of information and resources that will expand and extend inquiry.

2. Search

The next area of interest is the very powerful search tool at the top. In this you can put in any search term and it will search all our guides, ask.wab.edu and our A-Z online databases.  ask.wab.edu is our knowledge management platform where we answer questions and add in useful information based on FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).

3. Ask for Help!

Sometimes you just need a quick answer if you've not been able to find what you're looking for. The "Ask for Help" button will lead you to a live chat if one of our Librarians or EdTech personnel are online, otherwise it will create a form for you to fill in with your query and someone will get back to you - and your question may even be added to our FAQ database!

4. Drop down menu

You can also use the drop down menus to navigate directly to our most popular sections as well as to a list of all our guides.

ask.wab.edu

askIn this section you can directly search for the answers to popular questions or pose your own question for the team to answer.

We'd love it if you could spend some time looking at learn.wab.edu and ask your child how they're using our many varied resources for their learning.
