Planning
Students must develop and present a clear, detailed plan for achieving the product and all of its associated success criteria. Plans should be created before beginning on the product as a way to develop and demonstrate key self-management skills.
Plans should:
- Use timelines, calendars, GANTT charts or other tools/strategies
- Be detailed, specific and include both major and minor goals in the planning tool chosen
- Both short and long-term planning should be broken down by steps
- Refer to WAB’s P2 timeline as a guide
- Include all success criteria in the plan and target completion as one aspect of plan
Further Tips for Action Plans
- Students should take into consideration the time needed to complete the project (minimum 25 hours) and may record timings in action planning.
- Students should consider their approaches to learning (ATL) skills related to self-management and create a plan that works for them.
- Plans may allow students to complete work before deadlines or allow for flexibility!
- Different types of projects require research at different stages! Students should think about when research will be needed in their project.
